Summary:                   This report and the attached annex detail the recommendations of Cabinet following its meeting held on 16 February 2010. 

For Decision

1.0 Introduction and Background

1.1       Thanet’s Overview and Scrutiny Panel agreed to establish, through the Corporate Improvement and Budget Working Party,  a series of sub-groups to scrutinise each of the current East Kent Shared Service projects. 

1.2       An extraordinary meeting of the Panel was held on 4 February 2010, where the recommendations from the Corporate Improvement and Budget Working Party were considered. 

1.3       The recommendations to Cabinet from that meeting were submitted to Cabinet at its meeting held on 16 February 2010.

1.4       The recommendations from Cabinet to Council are attached at Annex 1 of this report.

1.5 Recommendation 5.2 “Members are recommended to reject the recommendation of the Overview and Scrutiny Panel to hold a ballot of tenants in Thanet” of the report to Cabinet 16 February 2010 (Landlord Services Joint Working Arrangements – Consulting Tenants) was adopted by Cabinet and is reflected in annex 1, on the basis of the report attached at annexes 2 and 3.
